Thyristor Surge Suppression devices from ProTek are designed to protect telecoms equipment against lightning and transients induced by AC power lines. These devices are ideal for use in equipment such as digital telephones, central office equipment, PBX, DSU, OCU, and radio-controlled equipment. Thyristors are offered in a bidirectional configuration. The discreet surface mount package allows individual placement of the device on printed circuit boards or other locations where multiple component devices do not offer the versatile in-board trace layout.

They provide protection in accordance with industry standard immunity requirements such as FCC Part 68, ANSI C62.41, UL 1459 and GR-1089-CORE, and are designed to meet EFT immunity requirement IEC 61000-4-4 (40A, 5/50ns) and Surge (Power, Line to Ground and Line to Line) immunity requirement IEC 61000-4-5.
